NATIONAL PARKS

Only a few hours drive from the camp are several national parks and nature parks. Zadar region has an excellent position which makes it the center of all attractions. Croatia has 8 beautiful national parks, the closest Zadar are Kornati, Plitvice, Krka and Paklenica.

KORNATI

 

An archipelago of 150 islands, islets and cliffs. In 1980, out of 150 Kornati islands, 89 are declared to be a national park because of the exceptional landscape beauty, interesting geomorphology, great indentedness of the coastline and very rich marine life.

PAKLENICA

 

Paklenica is the common name of two canyons with high cliffs, which are perpendicular to the direction of the mountain, rising from the sea to the highest peaks. At the touch of sea and mountain, in vertically cut in and deep canyons of a foothill valley tracing the main ridge of Velebit, there are numerous interesting and extraordinary natural phenomena. Primeval nature stirs up curiosity and animates visitors.

Plitvice Lakes National Park is one of the oldest national parks in Southeast Europe and the largest national park in Croatia. In 1979, Plitvice Lakes National Park was added to the UNESCO World Heritage register.

With its seven waterfalls and overall drop of 242m, Krka is a natural phenomena.The natural park fauna is very rich with numerous endemic, rare and endangered species. There is also a great flora diversity with more than 850 species.

PARKS OF NATURE

In the Zadar region there are three out of eleven nature parks, perfect for one-day family trips. There are nature parks, Telašćica, Velebit and Vrana. Other natural parks outside of Zadar region are mountain Biokovo, Kopacki rit, Lonjsko field, Medvednica, Učka, Žumberak - Samobor hills, and Lastovo Islands.

TELAŠĆICA

 
Telašćica is situated on the southeastern part of the island. Thanks to its extreme beautyTelašćica, richness and importance, this bay was declared a nature park 1988.

FOOD & DRINK

 

Privlaka is known as a fishing village. There is always available freshly caught fish. Fresh fish and seafood are the main ingredients of cuisine.
